MSR Hubba Hubba 2 person tent
The MSR Hubba Hubba 2 person tent has won the Backpacker Editor’s Choice Award because it is so lightweight – under 4lbs, really easy to set up and actually does have room for 2 people! It is so light because the Hubba has an all in one hub (maybe thats why its called hubba….) and swivel pole that is very strong and still easy to use. This 3 season tent is free standing and has a good amount of space inside. Having 2 doors is great as you don’t need to climb over someone and there is also a vestibule for storing gear. One of the advantages of all hubba hubba tents is thier versatility. They can be set up in 3 different ways depending on what you want and the weather conditions. Here is a great you tube video I found explaining it.
MSR Hubba Hubba 2 Person tent setup
As you can see it is a really roomy tent and the sides are almost vertical! For backpacking this tent is fantastic as you can set it up in just minutes. It packs away easily too so great for one night stops.
Pros & Cons of MSR Hubba Hubba 2 Person tent
Pros: definitely its size and weight. All people have commented on how light it is and how much room there is inside for 2 people to sleep comfortably – even 6 footers! There are also lots of reviews saying that this tent is really stable and can take windy wet weather well. However in extreme conditions it might not feel so secure. Cons: There is only one that stands out and that is how warm you are inside the tent. Although the materials are high quality they don’t retain heat very well so if you do use this tent in colder weather you will need to wrap up abit. So overall the MSR Hubba Hubba 2 person tent is a great tent for backpacking and for anyone wanting a really easy to use, lightweight tent that doesn’t take up much room to carry.
