Nemo Morpho 2 Person Tent With No Poles

The Nemo Morpho 2 person tent is amazing because there are no aluminium poles! The pole sleeves are in fact air beams and you fill them with air using a foot pump and this only takes a few minutes to do. Have a look at the you tube video below to see it in action. Quite amazing I think. With no aluminiun poles you would expect it to be much lighter than other 2 person tents but it isn’t which is a bit of a shame. Although the air beams are no lighter than aluminium poles they are stronger though! Lots of campers call it a bullet proof tent!

The set up of the nemo morpho is really quick and easy. Instead of sorting out poles you just pump up the airbeams and what is great about this is that you can do this from inside the tent as well! So even if it is raining you can just get inside the tent and pump it up! It might take a little longer but if you’ve ever had to set up camp in the pouring rain you can understand how brilliant this is! The tent is not free standing so it does require staking out.

What People Like About the Nemo Morpho

A lot of the 2 person tents I have reviewed have been quite small and often better suited for just one person. The Morpho is an exception. It really is a 2 man tent. Plenty of room for you and for your equipment too. The other thing that people have liked is the amount of headroom. This is because of the arched airbeams that create almost vertical walls! The thing that all reviews have mentioned is how easy it is to set up.

In addition there have been plenty of positive comments on how strong and durable the nemo morph tent is – standing up to high winds, heavy rain and even been used in snow (although it has been manufactured as a 3 season tent).

Is the Nemo Morpho any Lighter With Air Beams?

There are 2 things that have often been mentioned.

First, the weight of the tent. As I said ealier it isn’t any lighter than a tent with aluminium poles. This means that if it is used as a backpacking tent it is quite heavy to carry.

Secondly, quite a few campers have described being subjected to lots of condensation. This is strange as the design of the tent would suggest plenty of ventilation.

It has a single skin made from really breathable fabric and plenty of mesh at the front and back so the air flow would be good. I have read a few reviews that stated the ventilation was great and there was no condensation but these have been in the minority.

However, everyone does recommend the nemo morpho and I personally think it is a great tent with a brilliant design. Having experienced broken poles during windy weather I love the airbeam concept.
