This year we bought a bigger camping fridge so that we wouldn’t have to go shopping for food every day! It made things so much easier. What was great about the fridge was that it had a car adapter so could be running while we were travelling. This meant that I could pack it up with everything I’d planned for meals before leaving the house. I also put our packed lunch in there with drinks which was lovely to have properly chilled coke on the journey!

How much do camping fridges cost?

We were lucky to find a special deal on the price but you should be able to get a decent sized fridge for around $100. If you do a search for them online then try searching for thermoelectric coolers as you might get more results. Also make sure it has a 120V power supply not just 12V.

Most coolers will cool down to approximately 40 degrees F below the surrounding air temperature which is cold! It is best to fill them up with already chilled food or it takes a long time to get down to temperature. I put some ice blocks in mine first of all but that’s just because I left it a bit late in turning the cooler on!
