Camping Recipes
When camping most people tend to have a BBQ every morning and evening typically with bacon, sausages and burgers etc. Last summer my daughter commented on how unhealthy it was to eat that every day and why did people do it? So here are some camping recipes you might like to try out that can be cooked on your BBQ and are quick and easy. Hopefully it will give you some inspiration to try out other meals and have more variety while camping.
Beef Tomato Sauce
What you need:
beef tomato
marmite (optional)
rice or pasta.
First of all cut the top off of the beef tomato and mix up the inside with a fork. Add a teaspoon of marmite (if you like it) and put the lid back on. Put the tomato onto the BBQ grill and cook it until it is hot. You can then scoop out the middle and use as a tasty sauce to accompany your meal.
Alternatively you can make a meal out of it by adding rice or pasta to the inside of the tomato and eat all of it!
Lunch Time Tosties
What you need:
sliced bread or baggette
your choice of sandwich filling.
Put the bread onto the BBQ and toast it. You could butter the outside first if you want them extra crispy. You can choose your own filling but these are my favorites. Smoked salmon with pepper or lemon or ham with cheese sprinkled on the the top.
Frankfurter Goulash
This dish is really quick and easy to make if you use tinned of everything. Ideal if it starts to get abit chilly one evening.
What you need:
frankfurter sausages
potatoes
chicken soup
onions and peppers.
Cut up the onion and peppers and fry them until soft. Then add the rest of the ingredients and cook until hot to allow flavours to mix.
Enjoy! Plenty more recipes to come.
